Advice on selling
Entwistle have consistently achieved some of the best sales results for their clients by virtue of their unrivalled access to leading private and institutional buyers. We have placed important works in most of the leading museums with an interest in Tribal Art, a full list of which may be found on the back of this brochure. We act with complete discretion and impartiality and may recommend the services of reputable auction houses and market professionals, as well as our own, if appropriate. This service will involve the following:
• Appraisal for sale
• Authentication
• Condition report
• General market advice
• Formulation of a marketing strategy (auction/private/museum)
Appraisal fees are usually applicable but will be waived if we are further involved in the disposal of the art on a fee basis. If we recommend sale at auction our fees are usually 5% of the hammer price. In such cases we will advise on the most advantageous market conditions for the particular property involved and negotiate favourable terms with the auction house eventually selected. Our own fees for selling are detailed below.
